gTérma

The Thangtong Thugthig is a gTérma of Trans-Himalayan Vajrayana Buddhism, with its central figure being Ling Gésar, the enlightened warrior-king of Tibet. Practitioners of the Thangtong Thugthig are oriented towards warriorship, protection, and effectiveness in the world. The inseparable practices of Natural Heroism and Natural Dignity cultivate citizenship in Ling Gésar's realized kingdom.

To be naturalized into this kingdom requires transmission from a teacher of the tradition. As this gTérma consists entirely of Dzogchen long-dé, it has a close connection with the Aro gTér lineage which supplies the entrypoint for approaching these methods as an authentic path of Vajrayana practice.

The gTérma was received in vision from the mahasiddha Thangtong Gyalpo. It was transmitted to the gTértön Rang-rig Togden in the late 19th Century.
